Scissors on a Paper: Defiant
18 Oct, 2006
Count Maledictus wins the second Rock, Paper, Scissors Open Tournament on Defiant!
Under the watchful eyes of DJ Zero, 64 of Defiant’s most valiant heroes and deadly villains met last night in the titanic clash of skill, wit and old fashioned luck that was Scissors on a Paper, the second Rock, Paper, Scissors Open Tournament!
Fists were shaken, split-second decisions were made and trash talk was, erm, talked as the brave competitors faced off over two-and-a-half hours of high pressure Rock, Paper, Scissors competition of the highest level. When the dust settled and the screaming faded, only one competitor remained - the sinister Count Maledictus, who beat Daylight Warrior by 4 games to 2 in a nail-biting final.
Read on to learn how the Count fared against RPS Grand Master Bridger…
Having taken the Scissors on a Paper crown, the Count then took his opportunity to go head to head with Defiant’s reigning RPS Grand Master, the mighty Bridger himself, in a special exhibition match. After Bridger drew first blood, the Count quickly took a 4 games to 1 lead, needing only one more win to claim the Grand Master title for himself. But Bridger rallied and drew on his extensive Rock, Paper, Scissors experience to bring the scores level at 4 games all before snatching the victory, 5 games to 4!
Congratulations to the new RPS Open Champion, Count Maledictus, on his superb performance and victory in the tournament, and thanks to everyone else - competitors and spectactors alike - who came along to Pocket D and made it such a fun evening for everyone involved.
If you weren’t able to make it along, you can download a demo of the event recorded by Coin from this thread on the message boards. And don’t forget that Union’s tournament will take place in Pocket D at 7pm on Thursday evening…
