Issue #7 is now live!

imageWe’re very pleased to announce that Issue #7: Destiny Manifest has been released to the Live servers and is available now. Full release notes are available on the Official Message Boards and in our Game Patches section.

The latest free update to City of Heroes and City of Villains, Issue #7 adds many new features for heroes, including a unique new PvP zone, new Base items, new costume options and graphical improvements. For an overview of this new Issue, see our Issue #7 Feature Update.

Heroes should beware, though, as Arachnos has been busy, and Issue #7 will also see the power of your villainous foes increase. For more details, be sure to check the City of Villains site.

If you’re a former player of City of Heroes or Villains who is not currently subscribed to the games, there’s more good news! Your account has been reactivated - read on for more details…

Free account reactivation!

To celebrate the release of Issue #7, we will be reactivating all innactive City of Heroes and Villains game accounts for the next five days, allowing all our former players to try Issue #7 for themselves - for free!

Emails will be sent shortly with full details of this exclusive reactivation offer, but we are only able to send these mails to those players who have chosen to accept them on their PlayNC Master Account.

If you want to hear about this and any future offers from NCsoft, be sure you sign up to receive emails from us by logging into your Master Account at PlayNC. If you haven’t logged in for a while, you’ll probably see a pop-up window that lets you accept emails. If no pop-up appears, check the ‘Contact Info’ section of your PlayNC Account Management page. If it says ‘Not signed up to receive newsletters, beta announcements, game trials or exclusive offers by email’, click on the ‘Edit Contact Info’ link, check the box at the bottom-right, and click ‘Accept’.

In the meantime, if you know anyone who used to play City of Heroes or Villains, be sure to let them know that they’ll be able to log on and play any time between now and early Sunday morning (11 June) - and encourage them to sign up for future announcements via their PlayNC Master Account!

warning to all AVOID AVs like crazy, they have had the regen rates buffed to STUPIDLY high lvls, unless your team includes a heavy heavy regen debuffer, DO NOT EVEN BOTHER, you WILL NOT even dent the AVs health. this is NOT FUN this is (well i can’t put it cause it’d get censored, but you get the idea) stupid. you CAN NOT GUARENTY TO FIND A REGEN DEBUFF and all you will end up finding out is the maximum debt/lvl at your LVLs DO NOT GO NEAR AVS AT ALL

I just finished installing my copy of the game which I used before and I’m not getting the account reactivation! If I can’t sort this out I’m gonna be really annoyed because I spent hours updateing it! Plz Help!

I’ve just bought the game (yeah, I know… soooo behind the times...) and have just installed it. I am now trying to start it… and i have to wait 8 hours for this update to download! Is this cause of my connection? or because I have missd out on the previous updates and therefore have to get them ALL??? Either way, am REALLY looking forward to getting on there! I have also bought ‘City fo Villians’... will i have to wait for such a long time as well for a download for that? Any comments and info would be GREAT!!!

James Perry: it depends on which version of City of Heroes u purchased. if u purchased the Deluxe box then u only need Issues 5-7 which shuldnt take too long. but if you bought the non-deluxe version, then u have to download ALL of the Issues.
City of Villains doesnt need as much time do download the updates because it hasnt been out as long as CoH.

James Perry: City of Heroes and City of Villains use the same client (ie, the software installed on your machine). If you have both, install from the City of Villains DVD, which is a more up to date version than the City of Heroes discs.

You’ll still have some updates to download, but not nearly as many.

LOL!!! trix shots thats sooo funny! hehe anyways issue 7 is gr8 the cossie parts are wicked!!! although have to say its a bit disappointing all that wait and it seems that all us heroes got are some new cossie parts and EXTREMELY yet ANNOYINGLY powerful AV’s! lol :D
