Positron on Boomtown

22 May, 2006

Positron talks about the future of City of Heroes and Villains.

The intrepid chaps from Boomtown managed to grab some time with Matt ‘Positron’ Miller at E3, where Jakob Paulsen asked the Lead Designer of City of Heroes and Villains about his newly expanded role and his plans for the future of the games:

Boomtown: What will change now that you are the lead developer?
Matt Miller: Well, CoH and CoV are still Jack [Emmert’s] games, but he has entrusted me to lead the games’ direction. I’ve always wanted to make them more story driven and have worked for a long period to achieve that. While he still has his say, I now decide which systems and features we work on, how we implement them, which zones we create or rework and so on.

"add ing warshades to city of villians in retail expansion” i sinserly hope that the existing subscribers are going to get this without being forced to buy it?

triix shots: I’m afraid you misread what Positron said:

“There’s an epic archetype planned for the retail expansion, but until then we are looking at introducing Warshades to City of Villains.”

The Epic AT in the expansion will be a new one.

Looks like some promising new developments are in store. Christmas rocket was great for low level characters with missions in tough zones *cough*Hollows. I’ll just be glad issue 7 is nearly here.
