Release date and subscription prices announced!

With the European Beta well under way, we’re happy to announce more details of the City of Heroes European release. You can get all the answers in our FAQs section:

When will City of Heroes be released?

Is there a subscription fee for City of Heroes? How much is it?

What payment methods will be accepted for City of Heroes subscriptions in Europe?

Will there be time cards for City of Heroes? How much will they cost?

Don’t forget that many online retailers are already offering City of Heroes for pre-order, so you can reserve your copy today. We’d highly recommend it. Not that we’re biased or anything.

I believe its now a good time to ask what will happen with us people who have already bought and played CoH in the US servers. From what i know, an announcement has been made that we wont have to pay again for the client.

However...there are no forums for me to post this.

So...any progress on that subject ?

Quick question : I’m currently playing the game on the american servers using time cards and i was wondering whether it will be possible to use the (cheaper because no import costs) time cards sold in Europe from now on without me having to buy/switch to the european version of CoH (I’m not leaving Victory wink.

I think a price of 12Euro / Month or 11Euro/Month (for 6Month) is to expensive!A lot of Kids which play this game now in the beta version, told me they cannt handle this monthly fee, so they only play the beta and will leave then when the gold edition is in the stores! For sure it is an Online Game but at the most offline Games you also have some updates for much cheaper prices or sometimes you can update the Games for free! +there is the cost of your home internet connection! Sure you use the Internet connection otherwise to! But if you want to play the game you must have one!

So the Game with 132 Euro per year and + Internet conection (cheapest) 20 Euro/Month (240 Euro) --> Game 132Euro + Intenet 240Euro = 372 Euro!! Sorry fellows thats tooooo much for me!!

Hello !

Since you have answered to me about the pending announcement regarding former US server players not having to pay for the client again in order to play on the EU servers...could you please answer regarding the possible date of this announcement ?

Also what i mean is...since you said we will probably not need to pay for the client again...will we have the chance to activate out retail accounts upon release (4th February) so we can play when the game is released ? I am asking that because if us people who probably get a free client (since we already payed for it) get this offer delayed we are going to be at a disadvantage as far as character naming is concerned etc etc. So...will this announcement be made before release ?

Just a question please ! Knowing now that probably people who payed for the US client wont have to pay again for the UK client...when will this be decided ? I mean...shouldnt this matter be resolverd BEFORE the 4th of February ??? Because if its resolved AFTER the release date of the EU CoH...then people who already bought once the US client,and will wait and not buy the EU CoH in retail (since they are entitled to a free EU client download), will be at a disadvantage as far as character naming is concerned when the game is released. Shouldnt people get their free client before release ?

Your thoughts on that please ?

Will p2p mean a wipe of all current characters? I know of some games that wiped the beta chars prior to release and others that allowed beta chars to continue. So I thought I would ask.  /images/smileys/question.gif
