Following the victory of The Other Guys in the Union Bantamweight Final, the remaining Pentad Cup Finals on Union and Defiant have been completed, and the winning teams are now preparing for the inter-server Grand Finals, which will be announced shortly.

Union Heavyweight

On Thursday 15 September, the Global Gladiators faced off against the Fusion Stalking Allstars to decide Union’s Heavyweight Pentad Cup. These two teams had already met in the second round of the competition, when the Gladiators racked up an impressive 24-8 victory. This time, though, the stakes were much higher.

In the first match, the Allstars proved their determination to win the Cup. In a fast-moving battle set against the backdrop of Boomtown, the action moved from the ground to the air and back again. When the dust settled, the Allstars emerged as the victors.

With both teams having been defeated once, the Final went to the second round. Here, in the shadows of Skyway’s overpasses, the two teams clashed again. As before, the match was fast and furious, ranging from one end of the Arena to another. And as before, the Allstars took the victory, claiming the Union Heavyweight Pentad Cup!

Defiant Heavyweight

Two days later, on Saturday 17 September, The Harbingers of DOOOOOOM and Divine Circle met to decide the Heavyweight Cup on Defiant. In an incredibly closely fought match, both teams put up an impressive display, but eventually the Harbingers managed to clinch it. As Divine Circle had already been beaten once before in the competition (by the Harbingers, no less, in their second round match), this victory was enough to secure the cup for The Harbingers of DOOOOOOM.

Defiant Bantamweight

In the last of the English Pentad Cups, The Ninja Pornstars faced the SSG Tricksters for the second time. Having been beaten by the Ninjas in the Semi-Final by 33 KOs to 8, the diminutive but deadly Tricksters were looking forward to a chance to set the record straight, and in the early stages of the match they seemed likely to do so. In the shadows of Steel Canyon’s mighty skyscrapers, the Tricksters managed to KO the entire Ninja team.

After re-entering the fray, though, the Ninjas made an impressive comeback, turning the tide of the battle and KOing the entire Trickster team no less than twice. Despite the valiant efforts of the Tricksters, then, it came as no surprise when the Arena Scoreboard confirmed The Ninja Pornstars as the victors. Combined with their defeat in the Semi-Final, this was enough to eliminate the Tricksters from the competition, and the Ninjas took the cup.
