Your Secondary Power Set
Archetype, Origin and Primary Power Set are chosen; now we’re getting into the fine detail of the Secondary Power Set.
This is where you can either add polish to your hero, or perhaps take them off in a different direction altogether. Depending on your Archetype your Secondary Power Set can add a whole new dimension to your hero.
Unlike the Primary Power Set, you can only choose from one power choice in your Secondary Power Set when you create your hero, but of course you’ll be able to pick more of those powers later on.
Take a look at some of the interesting combinations available to you when choosing a Secondary Power Set. For Blasters, many of the Secondary Power Sets are complementary - Devices to go with Assault Rifle, Fire Manipulation to go with Fire Blast. How about mixing it up a bit though – say, a Fire and Ice combination, or perhaps an Assault Rifle with some Electrical backup?
For some of the other Archetypes, your choice of Secondary Power Set can have important effects on your gameplay experience. For example, do you want your Controller to be able to heal your teammates (or yourself!) in a tight spot? Take the Empathy power set then. Every Defender has a ranged attack as a Secondary Power Set, but if you put enough Enhancement Slots into those powers, eventually your hero could become a real ranged force to be reckoned with. And every Tanker has a wide choice of Melee attack powers in their Secondary Power Set - perhaps that Scrapper idea you had might be more suitable as a Tanker...?
As you can tell, choosing your Secondary Power Set can really influence your hero. So choose wisely… you only get one chance at it!
