City of Heroes® Secret Admirer Contest!
At some point, we’ve all stood outside of War Witch’s apartment and played the role of Secret Admirer. After all, who wouldn’t be wild over a talented sorceress who possesses brains, beauty and brawn? We sure are big fans...and we’re banking on the fact that you are too!
So in honor of Valentine’s Day being just around the corner, we’ve dreamt up a new way for you to express your love and admiration for this spiritual City of Heroes® stunner!
Introducing the City of Heroes® Secret Admirer Contest where between Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 10:00 AM CST (4:00 PM GMT / 17:00 Central European Time) and 11:59 PM CST (5:59 AM GMT; 6:59 Central European Time) on Sunday, February 28, 2010, you have the opportunity to create a unique digital or homemade Valentine’s Day card for War Witch herself - and win yourself some great prizes in the process!
If you enter the digital category you will need to send an email to cohcontests@ncsoft.com with the subject heading ”City of Heroes® Secret Admirer Contest” and include 2 images-- one of the front of the valentine and one of the inside. The two images should be uncompressed .jpg’s with a total (not individual size) of less than 5 Mb. Be as creative as you can, for the more your Valentine stands out from the others, the better off you’ll be! And don’t forget to make it City of Heroes centric - from the art to the text, the more you can create a valentine that has to do with War Witch and the game (while still making it very clearly related to the holiday), the more points you’ll earn from the judges.

If you choose to enter the homemade category, you have the ability to really go wild! You can use whatever arts and crafts you have at your disposal and make your valentine whatever shape you wish (as long as it still fits into an envelope and can be postal mailed). Again, creativity is a must and you’re going to want to make sure that the written ‘prose’ on your card (regardless of whether it is free verse or rhyming), has relevance to the game. We’d like to remind our European friends that if they enter this category they’re going to want to postal mail their entry sooner rather than later to ensure delivery (not a postmark date) by the deadline - 11:59 PM CST (5:59 AM GMT; 6:59 Central European Time) on Sunday, February 28, 2010.
Visit the Official City of Heroes® Secret Admirer Rules and Conditions (see below) to find out what important information MUST be submitted on a piece of paper along with your homemade valentine in order for your submission to be valid, and to get the postal mail address where your valentine must be sent.
Your valentine can be sappy sweet, cute or comedic - it’s completely up to you!
Your entry will be judged based on creativity, originality, visual appearance, and relevance to the City of Heroes® game.
Who will the judges be? Various members of the Paragon Studios™ staff of course, and yes, Melissa “War Witch” Bianco herself will be one of them, so you better make yours worthy!

Spring Fling returns for Valentine’s Day!
Ganymede, Scratch, and DJ Zero are once again flinging out the fun and creating seasonal harmony from that jumpin-est of joints, Pocket D. Blue side and Red side have another chance to join forces and Snap some Teeth.

Free Character Transfers extended until the 28th February!
Good news! Due to popular demand, free Character Server Transfers have been extended until the 28th February (at 11:59 p.m. GMT / 00:59 Central European Time)!
We know a lot of you have been using the service to hop between servers to participate in in-game events, meet up with friends, or just explore and experience new communities. We also know that you’ve been asking for the opportunity to continue doing it! So, consider your wish granted for another month.
For those of you who haven’t fully taken advantage of this limited time offer, here are a few things you should bear in mind before initiating a character transfer to a different server:
- Transfers are not available between North American and European servers.
- You will be able to complete up to 6 transfers a week (7-day period) per account.
- Not all possessions will transfer over with your character so be sure to read the corresponding Knowledge Base article before you decide to transfer a character.
- Super-group affiliation, Prestige and access to your Supergroup base items will be lost.
- You may lose your character’s name when transferring from a server.
We hope you keep transferring away and enjoying yourself!

Please be aware that we are currently experiencing issues with our petition system and therefore are unable to receive your tickets submitted from inside the game. We are working hard to resolve the issue, but currently do not have an ETA on fix. Until this is resolved, please refrain from using the in-game petition system and instead submit your issue via the website. Also, if you recently filed a petition from in-game within the last couple of days, we recommend that you do so again, using the website.
