What is ‘City of Heroes Deluxe’, and what is in the box?

’City of Heroes Deluxe’ is the name given to the European edition of City of Heroes, which was released on February 4th 2005 and is still available from retailers across Europe. The suggested retail price in the UK is £19.99, and €29.99 in the rest of Europe.

City of Heroes Deluxe combines elements of the US City of Heroes Collector’s Edition with additional European-only extras. (In case you’re wondering, ‘City of Heroes Deluxe’ is only the name given to this edition… the game itself is still called City of Heroes.)

The contents of City of Heroes Deluxe include:

  • The first three content updates* for City of Heroes since the game’s US launch, on two CDs or one DVD**, including:
    • Issue #1: Through the Looking Glass
    • Issue #2: A Shadow of the Past
    • Issue #3: A Council of War
  • A 32-page Quickstart Manual, with all the details you need to get started on your crimefighting career
  • A 2-sided Reference Guide, containing the most frequently used keys and commands
  • An expanded map of Paragon City, updated to include all new zones from Issues #1-3
  • 16-page PvP online comic by creator Scott R. Kurtz - read PvPonline here

  • Exclusive to Deluxe box: A serial code unlocking an in-game Prestige Power (Power Slide), plus VIP Badge and Cape
  • Exclusive to Deluxe box DVD: NCsoft game trailers for City of Villains, Guild Wars and more!
