Combined North American and European Installer for Microsoft Windows users

The new City of Heroes installer works with the NCsoft Launcher to allow you to more quickly and efficiently download and patch your game.

New Customers: Downloading the new City of Heroes installer will install the NCsoft Launcher, through which you can then download the City of Heroes game client.

Existing Customers: If you already have City of Heroes installed on your computer, the new City of Heroes installer from this page will update your game client so it will be fully compatible with the NCsoft Launcher. You will not need to re-download the full game client.

The Beta Server is a City of Heroes game server where upcoming content updates may be published for rigorous testing. Access to the Beta Server is by invitation only. The Beta Server will only be accessible during testing. Please note that the Beta Server can be an unstable environment, and characters created on that server may be deleted without warning.

Setting up access to the Beta Server on Windows Systems

1. Run the NCsoft Launcher shortcut to get the latest update.
2. Create a copy of the NCsoft Launcher desktop shortcut.
3. Right click on the new shortcut and open the Properties option.
4. In the Target window, add the following flag to the end of the line:
   [space]/LaunchGame=CohBeta
5. Run the shortcut.
6. The NCsoft Launcher will open, starting a City of Heroes Beta installation.
7. Click Install.
8. If you are on Windows Vista or Windows 7, confirm the UAC prompts. (if UAC is turned on).
9. After the installation completes, double-click CITY OF HEROES BETA in the NCsoft Launcher's games list to play.

The Training Room is a City of Heroes game server where upcoming content updates may be published for testing. All customers have access to the Training Room. The Training Room will only be accessible during testing, and characters created on that server may be deleted without warning.

9. After the installation completes, click CITY OF HEROES TEST in the NCsoft Launcher's games list to play.
