The City of Heroes® Super Booster IV: Martial Arts is out!
Get ready to channel your chi and embrace your inner shinobi! City of Heroes® Super Booster IV: Martial Arts is now available for £5.99 / 8.99 € on the NCsoft® store.
Not only does Super Booster IV: Martial Arts offer you a stealthy new costume set, brazen emotes, and ninja-inspired costume change techniques, but you’ll gain access to the exclusive Ninja Run travel power so you can dash through the city with the agility of a ninja! Use Ninja Run to strike fear in the hearts of your enemies as you increase your run speed and leaping abilities. What’s the best part? It doesn’t use one of your power selections!
This purchase enables these features for all characters on your game account from level 1, but the costume change emotes do require that you unlock at least one additional costume slot. This can be accomplished by completing costume slot missions at levels 20, 30, and 40; and by using Halloween Event salvage (which can also be bought, sold or traded via the in-game Consignment Houses).

The Loyalty Program ends on 16th November !

The Deadly Apocalypse is upon us!
Brace yourself for the new apocalypse as our annual Halloween Event returns to City of Heroes®! Legions of Zombies, Werewolves, Jack-o-Lanterns, and other foul denizens are preparing to descend upon Paragon City™ and the Rogue Isles™. This year they’re bringing even more powerful allies! The new apocalypse is deadlier than ever as mysterious monstrosities are joining forces with the Eidolons, Shivans, and others. Paragon City and the Rogue Isles could be in terrible peril, and only the greatest Heroes and Villains can turn back the tide.
- Starts: Tuesday, 20th October 2009 at 8:59 a.m. British Time (9H59 Central EuropeanTime)
- Ends: Tuesday, 10th November 2009 at 11:59 p.m. British Time (00H59 Central European Time).
Deadly Apocalypse
As if our Heroes and Villains didn’t have enough foul-smelling fiends with rotting flesh to deal with during a zombie apocalypse, this year Heroes and Villains have to come up with new strategies to tackle a new terror. When Haunted Sigils appear, destroy them quickly and prepare for wave after wave of relentless foes. Only after all the foes have been defeated will you be rewarded with a ghoulish surprise. It’s a trick and treat!
Badges, Temporary Costumes, and Other Rewards
The greater the challenge, the greater the reward! This year our Heroes and Villains receive new trick or treat prizes. Everyone who completes the various stages of the Deadly Apocalypse will receive a badge, and all of last year’s goodies will be back for players who missed them.
Be sure to visit Ravenwing Cabbal’s Annah in Croatoa or Granny Beldam in Nerva Archipelago to learn more about the 2009 Halloween Event activities if you haven’t already claimed all Halloween rewards.
But before you launch yourself into the action, there are a couple of things we need to make you aware of:
- You should enable the Events Channel on your Chat channel Tab to see in which zone the Deadly Apocalypse (announced as ’Supernatural activity detected in Zone X’) or the Zombie Invasion is occurring.
- If the Halloween Event kicks off in a Zone that has multiple instances, it is only occurring in ONE zone (for example, if there are two instances of Atlas Park, check both Atlas Park and Atlas Park 2).

Double XP Weekend Extended!
What’s the only thing better than a Free Reactivation and Double XP Weekend? A Free Reactivation and Double XP Weekend that’s been extended by an extra day!
Given the holiday weekend in both the United States and Canada, Free Reactivations and Double XP for all of our current and former City of Heroes players will be extended one additional day and end on, and that includes our European players:

Costume Code Countdown to Hero-Con
Getting excited for Hero-Con? We are! So while there will be a shiny new Praetorian Clockwork Costume Code available for those who attend the event towards the end of October...we’re going to start celebrating NOW by giving away costume codes of Cons past!
Starting Today, October 1st all the way up to when Hero-Con starts, we’ll be giving away anywhere from 2-4 U.S. and European codes each day!

Double XP Weekend and Account Reactivation
We’re celebrating the recent launch of Issue 16: Power Spectrum in style by offering all our players a Double XP weekend! But that’s not all, all inactive accounts in good standing will also be given access to City of Heroes and City of Villains® during the Double XP weekend!
Here are the dates and times:
- Starts: Thursday, 8th October 2009 at 4:59 p.m. British Time (17H59 Central European Time)
- Ends: Monday, 12th October 2009 at 7:59 a.m. British Time (8H59 Central European Time)
All participating Hero and Villain characters will receive double the XP, Influence, and Infamy for their accomplishments in game. Just log in to start playing and take advantage of this opportunity to level up your favorite Heroes and Villains twice as quickly as normal!
